Selfwork – Ruby Tureski

Selfwork is demonstrating reliability, valuing others and yourself, showing resilience and visualizing a positive future.

During this summer I started working as a soccer coach for young kids. I thought this job would be a good fit for me since I like to play soccer and I like working with little kids. Unfortunately, I found out pretty quickly that I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would and the parents were pretty difficult. I really wanted to quit this job but I knew it was a good way for me to learn how to work with others and learn how to deal with difficult people.

Through this experience, I showed myself how much willpower and resilience I have. If I didn’t choose to stay at this job for the whole summer, I wouldn’t have been able to push myself and see how much willpower I do have. An employer would benefit from hiring me because I show reliability, value others and myself, am able to visualize a positive future and demonstrate resilience.
