Communication is an invaluable skill in the workplace because it fosters confidence, creativity and attention to detail. It entails understanding your online persona and audience and having strong speaking skills. While applying for a restaurant position, I was required to do an interview. Before the interview, I understood that they might research my background information. This includes through references, and social media. I removed inappropriate comments on all media platforms that I posted when I was younger. During the interview, I needed to use professional language because of the audience I was speaking to. This is important to maintain a polished image. As a result, I found success and got the job at the job I applied for.
